Universal Combat: A World Apart gives the hardcore Battlecruiser fan base a new advanced Battlecruiser type game using newer and more advanced technologies. New features include new shader based lighting, glow and environment mapping (in space, you will see the surrounding space skybox reflected objects in the scene, etc.) render paths; along with normal and bump maps support for various high end assets. A World Apart adds 16 new missions playable as Terran/Insurgent Commander or Elite Force Pilot career. Additionally there are 16 new Instant Action scenarios, and two co-op specific multiplayer space-based scenarios with support for up to 32 players.

Universal Combat: A World Apart is a component of the Universal Combat series, but is not an add-on expansion pack, and plays as a stand-alone title.
